The Warren County Foundation Grant of $700, March 10, 2017 helped with our “County Wide Tutor & Student Recruitment” project. The funds are being used to reach out to adults not being reached for various reasons and partnering with groups where these adults may already be involved such as churches, community assistance agencies, community service organization to name a few.
We are also listed as a resource for a number of agencies such as Allistrong Foundation in Carlisle, Centerpoint Health in Franklin, Solutions Community Counseling & Recovery Center in Lebanon and Healing Center (part of the Vineyard Church) in Cincinnati. In the first 6 months of 2017, we have trained 17 new tutors and added 29 new students who have joined those already tutoring and being tutored. ContactWarren County Adult New Readers

Mission StatementWarren County Adult New Readers is a 501(c)(3) non-profit adult literacy agency which trains volunteers to tutor adults who live and work in Warren and nearby counties in Ohio who need help with reading and writing and people from other countries who wish to improve their reading, writing and speaking in English.
ActivitiesOur trained, volunteer tutors work one-on-one to provide free, confidential and individualized instruction at a time and place mutually convenient in a library or other public building. The literacy improvement prepares them to get a job, do their job better, improve their chances for advancement and their families (especially the children) benefit in a multitude of ways. Many studies have shown that adult literacy or lack thereof has a direct connection with a child's literacy, learning, and skill levels. The community and society as a whole benefit in economic and social ways.
