The Warren County Foundation grant has allowed us to purchase Drums Alive equipment for our two summer camps in Warren County. Our campers and volunteers had a great time with the new equipment – we will be able to engage kids in music and movement for many summers to come. We are very honored to be a grant recipient and grateful for your support. The grant has allowed us to purchase Drums Alive equipment for our two summer camps in Warren County. The first camp was held June 19-23 at the Mason Community Center, and the second one on July 24-28 at Crossroads Mason.

Mission StatementMelodic Connections is a community music studio based in Cincinnati that serves individuals with developmental disabilities through music therapy-based services. Our primary mission is to prepare our students for the community and prepare the community for our students. At Melodic Connections, each voice is unique and every voice will be heard.
ActivitiesMelodic Connections uses music, and all the ways music connects us, as a tool for personal growth and positive change for more than 700 individuals, age 4-85.
Musicians in the conservatory study keyboard, guitar, drums and voice, and perform in community concerts. Through service learning, Melodic Connections musicians are seen for their abilities in some of the most prominent arts venues in the area. We assist adults and transition-age young adults in exploring their music-related interests and turning those interests into vocational opportunities. Students in afternoon classes receive music instruction and social opportunities that the school systems lack the resources to provide. And in summer camps, we use music, art and drama to help students with developmental disabilities build and maintain social skills during the summer months, during a time when they can be isolated from their peers. |
