The Warren County Foundation celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2022. We have also completed a new strategic plan for the Foundation for the next three-five years. The Warren County Forever Endowment is an important part of this plan as we prepare to support the community through our grants program.
The Forever Endowment was launched at the annual Community Service Awards program on June 8.
The Warren County Forever Endowment has been established to support the Warren County Foundation’s mission, grant programs and/or administration. We are raising new funds for a permanent unrestricted endowment where we will protect the principal by growing it in perpetuity through the Endowment Sustainability Process (ESP) and make distributions based on our spending policy.
Simply put, an endowment is a pool of funds raised by a non-profit organization, which is then invested, and which provides returns or ongoing income to the non-profit, either for a designated purpose or for general operating support. The distributions per our spending policy from the Forever Endowment will be used for Discretionary, Impact, and other special grants to 501(c)3 organizations across Warren County and/or administration.
The Warren County Foundation has just over $21 million in assets and manages more than 185 funds. The vast majority of our funds are designated and/or provide gifts that are determined by the donors. We make close to $2.0 million in grants to non-profits each year.
